Solidcore is an HP Software Platinum Business Partner, which includes membership in HP's Enterprise Management Alliance Program (EMAP) and Developer Solutions Partner Program (DSPP). The Solidcore S3 Control product integrates with HP Service Manager, HP Release Control, HP Universal CMDB, HP Server Automation Software, and HP Network Automation Software. Solidcore enhances the capabilities of these products by capturing critical change information in real time, reconciling change activity against approved change tickets and automatically preventing unauthorized changes to the infrastructure. Using Solidcore, customers can enforce the HP Business Service Automation (BSA) solutions as authorized “agents of change,” allowing only HP BSA-related changes to occur and helping ensure all change flows through the approved process.
Product Integration Descriptions
- HP Release Control + S3 Control
With S3 Control and HP Release Control deployed in conjunction, latent changes are detected in real-time with detailed information including user name, program name and file content by S3 Control. All real-time change data is analyzed by HP Release Control to perform risk factor calculations. S3 Control provides HP Release Control with the number of latent changes, aggregated by server. S3 Control tracks "who" made the change, and information is summarized to provide number of latent changes performed by user. S3 Control can also prevent changes to critical files/registry keys, either made outside of the scheduled change window for an approved change or altogether to prevent unauthorized changes.
- HP Universal CMDB + S3 Control
Many customers also deploy HP Release Control with the HP Universal CMDB, a configuration management database that captures and stores business service definitions comprising physical, virtual and logical IT elements and their relationships. Solidcore S3 Control provides a federation adaptor that enables HP Universal CMDB to obtain relevant, real-time change information on demand from S3 Control. This federated change data can be leveraged by any product integrated to the HP Universal CMDB; for example, HP Release Control uses federated change data to automate impact analysis and identify unauthorized or latent changes to make better approval decisions during the change process and enforce compliance.
- HP Service Manager + S3 Control
S3 Control verifies that changes approved through HP Service Manager have been deployed and identifies unapproved/unticketed changes (e.g. emergency changes) with very high accuracy. S3 Control automatically groups related changes and provides a mechanism to easily document emergency/undocumented changes detected on the system for cost-effective compliance. S3 Control can also be configured to prevent any unapproved changes to systems to drive all change through HP's Service Manager. Benefits include reduced cost of compliance, increased availability and improved Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes. S3 Control integrates with both default and customized installs of HP Service Manager using the out-of-the-box connector, and provides an application programming interface (API) for integration with custom workflows.
- HP Server Automation Software + S3 Control
When integrated with HP's Server Automation Software, Solidcore S3 Control tracks all change to servers in real-time. S3 Control also captures and documents critical change detail in real-time, including who is making changes, what is actually being changed, when change is occurring, and how the change was made. Solidcore Identifies changes that make a system non-compliant and enables the IT organization to enforce a change process policy by ensuring, at the system level, that only HP Server Automation Software can make change to a server. The combined solution enables customers to further enforce HP Server Automation Software as an "authorized change agent," where only changes from HP Server Automation are allowed, providing lock-down for select systems that support mission-critical applications that require extreme change control policies.
- HP Network Automation Software + S3 Control
Solidcore's S3 Control helps HP customers verify and audit changes to networking configurations by correlating the change information from the HP Network Automation Software with change management systems like HP Service Manager. Pre-packaged reports identify unauthorized and high-risk changes that could expose an organization's network to vulnerabilities and attacks. S3 Control can also automate audit trail creation and remove the burden of documentation from the Administrator. Audit trails are often mandated by SOX and other regulatory compliance initiatives and automation is the best and most accurate way of proving compliance.
