Joins 'Solidified-for-Change' Partner Program to Help Automotive Manufacturers Improve Service Availability with Real-Time Change Tracking and Enforcement |
TROY, Mich., Dec. 19, 2006 – VIA Information Tools, a leading provider of application software and professional services to manufacturers in multiple industries, today announced it has joined Solidcore’s “Solidified-for-Change” partner program, adding Solidcore’s industry-leading change control software to its solution portfolio. VIA, the industry’s leading manufacturing domain expert, selected Solidcore’s S3 Control software for the real-time change tracking and enforcement capabilities that help automotive manufactures improve productivity, increase service availability and reduce IT costs.
As part of the new Solidified-for-Change partner program also announced today, VIA will resell and implement Solidcore’s S3 Control software, which is easily configured to increase the availability of manufacturing systems, enable the successful implementation of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) projects, and reduce the cost of compliance initiatives. The solution gives VIA customers technology-based change policy enforcement to automatically ensure changes made to critical manufacturing systems are in-line with the change policy. The solution also provides real-time visibility into what changes are made and reconciliation of changes with service desk ticketing systems.
"The uptime and availability of our customers' manufacturing systems is absolutely critical to the bottom line of their business, and that availability cannot be threatened by uncontrolled and inappropriate changes to the infrastructure," said Rob Markevics, vice president of manufacturing systems for VIA Information Tools. "Solidcore gives our discrete manufacturing customers complete control over the change process and can automatically prevent inappropriate change to critical systems – ensuring efficiency of their production systems."
Service availability is constantly threatened by changes to the infrastructure that do not conform to IT service management processes and policies. These include changes made at unauthorized times or without approved change tickets, as well as approved changes whose execution deviates from the expected change. VIA is focused on helping manufacturers close this change control gap between the IT service management process and the ability to understand and enforce actual changes to the infrastructure with Solidcore’s S3 Control software.
"We are pleased to have VIA join our partner program and distribute our leading change control software to the world’s leading automotive manufacturers," said Bob Vieraitis, vice president of marketing for Solidcore. "Working with VIA will help more manufacturers realize the benefit of increased service availability and reduced costs through Solidcore’s real-time change control capabilities."
