Accountability through Change Reconciliation
Closing the loop between change approvals and change implementation is key to achieving change accountability. While ticketing systems provide documentation of approvals, verifying that all the changes approved have been implemented correctly and no other changes have been made can be a difficult and time-consuming task.
S3 Control closes the loop on change by creating a comprehensive inventory of actual changes carried out on systems, grouping and matching them with change tickets and approvals, flagging ad-hoc changes made without approvals, and documenting emergency changes with improper documentation. S3 Control offers integration with popular Change Management Systems including BMC Remedy and HP ServiceCenter.

Closed-loop change management can help IT management hold outsourcers accountable for implementation of approved changes by verifying that the changes were actuallly completed. In addition, it can help ensure that no extra change/fix was 'sneaked in' on the pretext of a different change by providing a complete worklog of all changes made.
